You may feel like every other expert has their two cents on how to treat your child, but one thing for sure is that eye tracking and depth perception may be affecting their studies.
It can be hard to stand by and watch as their frustrations with reading and vision affect other parts of their development. And of course you’re worried that they may fall behind their peers, right?
The good news is that you’re in the right place for practical advice and steps to take to solve the problem.
We have tested hundreds of children with dyslexic tendencies and you can rest assured that your child will feel comfortable and supported by our experienced team.
Convergence is the simultaneous inward movement of both eyes to look at an object, and see it as single. Normal point of convergence is when both eyes together are used in a co-ordinated manner. When this does not function properly, it is called Convergence Insufficiency.
We can cure convergence insufficiency within 12-18 months through eye exercises and low powered temporary reading glasses. These are used for near tasks and soothe the eyes.

To see real results you have to put the work in! We’ll provide a personalised course of exercises to help develop your child’s tracking and depth skills.
Just like a marathon, it’s all about consistent muscle training, but the results will be worth it. Soon your child will find homework to be less of a battle and their teachers will be reporting better concentration in class.
This is all included in the first meeting, so your child will be able to get going straight away.
The Scotopic Test also includes a hand out and demonstration of the first stages of the exercises. The exercises can be progressed at either 3 or 6 months later, depending on your children’s individual needs.
You’ll receive a full report of findings, plus a copy for your school if needed.
We can also send a copy to your Occupational Therapist, Psychologist or whoever referred your child for testing.
It doesn’t take long to prescribe the right exercises and lenses to meet your children’s needs.
You will leave Barrett Opticians knowing your children’s eyes have been accurately assessed after just one meeting!
